This is a blog post discussing the merits of education providers such as Kaplan distance learning.

Until recently, obtaining a degree, or an equivalent level of qualifications, involved a great deal of time, expensive, energy and effort. Affording to go to university, in terms of both money and the time spent, has meant that this kind of higher education has not always been available to everybody.
