Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-Minn.), a tea party favorite, has steadfastly refused to hold a town hall meeting in Duluth, the largest city in his district. That is, until a group of activist grandmothers shamed him yesterday into promising to hold a meeting to discuss jobs (see video).
As dozens of grandmothers chanted, “What do want? Town hall. When do we want it ? Now,” one grandmother confronted Cravaack after he had met with a group of business executives.
Ken Quinnell at Crooks and Liars says Cravaack has had numerous meetings with special interest groups,
but has yet to answer to the biggest voting block in his district.
